Promoting sail and motor cruising in the York area

The Start Yachting RYA Training Course is a beginner sailing course and an introduction to yachting. It gives an opportunity for the novice to experience sailing without having to commit to a five-day course. It is the course for the absolute beginner to learn the basics and enjoy the delights of sailing aboard a cruising yacht. The Start Yachting Course provides beginners with a short introduction to sail cruising for novices. By the end of the two-day training course, you will have experienced steering a yacht, sail handling, ropework and be aware of safety onboard. Holders of an RYA Start Yachting certificate can obtain an RYA Competent Crew certificate by completing a further two weekends of the RYA Competent Crew course.
